RICE AND RENO COUNTY — Resurfacing will start soon on Old K-14 in Sterling and Reno County.
A contractor for the Kansas Department of Transportation will do an asphalt mill/overlay on Old K-14 through Sterling. The work is expected to start on the south side of Garfield Avenue and move north to a little north of West Kansas Avenue.
The Sterling work is expected to start Monday, May 6, and be completed around Wednesday, May 15.
The contractor will then begin work on Old K-14 in Reno County from Sego Road to Dean Road, including through Nickerson.
The Reno County work is expected to begin around Thursday, May 16, and be completed around late May.
During the work, traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car, and motorists should be prepared to stop and expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
