HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The City of Hutchinson announced the appointment of Jessica Woodyard as the new Public Communications Manager within the Strategic Growth department, effective May 1, 2024. In her new role, Jessica will play a pivotal role in enhancing public engagement, promoting transparency, and effectively conveying the city's initiatives and achievements.

As the Public Communications Program Manager, Jessica will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies aligned with the city's goals and objectives. Her expertise in crafting compelling narratives and utilizing various communication channels will foster community engagement and support for the city's programs, services, and events.

Jessica brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having previously served as the Community Outreach and Education Coordinator at First National Bank of Hutchinson. During her tenure, she acted as a liaison between the bank and the community, engaging in productive conversations and actions. She also developed financial literacy programs and coordinated bank-sponsored events.

"Jessica's passion for Hutchinson and her dedication to enhancing communications and community engagement make her the ideal candidate for this role. Jessica holds a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in Business from the University of Kansas. She has been involved in various community organizations, including serving as a for Downtown Hutchinson, Young Professionals of Reno County, Boys and Girls Club, TECH, Interfaith Housing, and Cancer Council of Reno County.

Reflecting on her new role, Jessica expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity to serve the city she calls home. "I am deeply passionate about Hutchinson and am excited to work towards enhancing communications and community engagement between the city and its residents," said Jessica Woodyard. "I look forward to collaborating with city officials, department heads, and community partners to effectively communicate the city's initiatives and foster meaningful connections within our community."
