HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Former Hutchinson High School Salthawk and most recently Barton Cougar, Myles Thompson, has announced his commitment to continue his basketball and academic career at SIU-Edwardsville.

Thompson made the announcement Wednesday on X.

Thompson had a breakout national tournament appearance in the Sports Arena, averaging 20.3 points and 8.3 rebounds. He scored 20 or more points in three of the four games in the tournament, helping guide the Cougars to their first-ever national title.

He was selected as a first team all-conference selection, as well as on the all-tournament teams for the Region VI Tournament and the NJCAA National Tournament.

SIU-Edwardsville is located in Edwardsville, Illinois, and is an NCAA Division I school that participates in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Cougars are coached by former Butler Community College coach Brian Barone.
