NWS confirms 2 Kansas City area tornadoes

PLATTE COUNTY—Storm Damage Survey Teams have confirmed two tornadoes from the storms on Monday  night. An EF-0 in northeastern Platte Co. and an EF-1 from Blue Springs to Grain Valley, Missouri.

The Platte County tornado was on the ground from 10:59 to 11:06p.m., according to the National Weather Service. It traveled 6 miles, had peak winds of 80 miles per hour and a width of 50 yards.

The Blue Springs tornado was on the ground from 11:26 to 11:35p.m.  It traveled five and one half miles, had peak winds of 100 miles per hour and a width of 75. yards.  There were no injuries from the tornadoes.
