HUTCHINSON, Kan. — One side of the bracket is now set for the semifinals of the NJCAA Tournament. Barton CC will face No.5 Indian Hills in the semifinals on Thursday.
Indians Hills beat the No. 13 Odessa Wranglers 74-68 on Wednesday night.
Indian Hills led by just two at halftime (34-32). It was a tie game four times throughout 40 minutes of play and there were five lead changes.
However, Odessa's time at the national tournament came down to the wire with a little under ninety seconds left on the clock. Sophomore guard Brandon Maclin's layup for the Wranglers tied it up 67-67.
Sophomore guard Willie Lightfoot knocked down a free throw for Odessa with about 17 seconds left in the game, but Indian Hills held them there.
Lightfoot led Odessa in scoring with 23 points and Maclin scored 17.
Sophomore guard TJ Morris scored 19 for Indian Hills and sophomore forward Chris Mpaka scored 16.
Indian Hills will play No.1 Barton in the semifinals on Thursday, March 28 at 5 p.m.
