HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The postseason accolades continue to come for the HutchCC women's basketball national championship team, as Hutchinson Mayor Greg Fast proclaimed Tuesday, April 16 as "Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragon Women's Basketball Team Day."
Members of the Blue Dragon team, as well as the coaching staff were present to be recognized by the Hutchinson City Council.
HutchCC head coach John Ontjes was awarded the "key to the city" by Interim City Manager Mary Grace Clements during the presentation, as well.
The Blue Dragons finished the 2023-24 season with a 37-0 record and defeated NW Florida State in the national championship game on Monday, April 1.
