⚾ Blue Dragon win streak ends with loss at KCK

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The No. 17 Hutchinson Community College baseball team saw its 20-game win streak come to an end with a 9-4 non-conference loss at No. 18 Kansas City Kansas Community College on Monday afternoon.

The Blue Dragons jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI single by Luis Pimental-Guerrero.

KCK responded with four in the bottom of the first and never looked back. The Blue Devils added one more apiece in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings, and two in the eighth for their nine runs.

HutchCC scored one in the fifth on an RBI single by Pimental-Guerrero, driving in Kael Babin. The Blue Dragons scored their final two runs of the game in the eighth, a two-run double from Blake Bradford.

The Blue Dragons are now 36-9 overall and 21-3 in Jayhawk Conference play. They begin a big four-game series with Cloud County on Thursday at Hobart-Detter Field with a 1 p.m. first pitch of the doubleheader.
