HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The gates to Cow Creek were closed until April 21st for the Creekside clean-up day that took place on Saturday.

This closure reduced the water flow to facilitate the removal of trash and debris from the creek bed by the clean-up crews.

12 volunteers gathered at Bernard White Park on Saturday, cleaning up the park and the stretch of Cow Creek adjacent to the park.

The neighborhood thanked all the volunteers, to the City of Hutchinson - Government for shutting the gate on Cow Creek so they could get the trash out of the creek, and to the Hutchinson Community Foundation for supporting the cleanup effort with a Changemakers at Work Grant.

Painting of sidewalk murals was postponed because the pavement ended up being too cold to paint. That will be rescheduled later this spring.
