⚾ Beavers 4-hit day leads Salthawks to road win

EL DORADO, Kan. — Caiden Beavers recorded his first four-hit game of the season to go along with three RBI, as the Hutchinson High School baseball team beat El Dorado 14-4 in a non-league game at McDonald Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

The Salthawks scored three in the top of the first inning, as Landon Parks drove in a run with a groundout, followed by an RBI single to center from Jack Yoder. Yoder then scored a few pitches later on an errant throw into left field on a stolen base.

Hutchinson plated three more runs in the second inning, all with two outs. Beavers drove in two with a double to the left-center gap, followed up by an RBI single from Cole Bleything.

The Salthawks scored one more in the fourth, and then plated four runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth, Carter Morgan drove in a run with an RBI double into the right field corner, while Beavers followed him up with an RBI single into left-center.

Hutchinson scored two more in the sixth and scored its final run in the seventh.

Morgan tossed five strong innings on the mound, allowing one hit and four runs, but no earned runs. Landon Parks tossed two scoreless innings of relief, striking out two and allowing one hit.

The Salthawks are now 12-8 on the season and will travel to Goddard on Tuesday for a doubleheader against the Eisenhower Tigers with first pitch at 4 p.m.
