BALTIMORE, MD. — Former Hutchinson Monarch and current Baltimore Orioles slugger Colton Cowser has been named the American League Player of the Week.

Cowser hit .435 with four home runs and 12 RBI last week to help the Orioles to a 5-2 record during that span.&nbsp;

Cowser is currently hitting .395 on the season with four home runs and 13 RBI.

Cowser was the fifth overall pick in the 2021 draft out of Sam Houston State.

He played for the Monarchs during the summer of 2019, helping guide the Monarchs to a 28-14 overall record and 19-13 mark in the Sunflower Collegiate League standings.

In 14 career games with the Monarchs, Cowser hit .370 with five doubles and 14 RBI.&nbsp;
