The opening event is Thursday, October 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This is the second installment in a series of exhibits that honors Hutchinson’s first responders and emergency personnel. The previous exhibit, Hutch Heroes: Firefighters, ended Aug. 31.
In collaboration with the Hutchinson Police Department and current and retired police officers, the exhibit will trace the history of the Hutchinson Police Department from the early days of horse thieves to the current focus on community policing. The exhibit highlights police uniforms, insignia, equipment, major crimes and honors the fallen.
The public is invited to the opening. The Hutchinson Police Department will have members of the K-9 unit and the Reno County Sheriff’s Department will have the armored response vehicle at the event.
