HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Commission approved a memorandum of understanding between the county and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment for the countywide spraying to kill mosquitoes.
Reno County Health Department Director Nick Baldetti says they plan to spray Thursday evening into Friday morning between 8:45 p.m. and 2 a.m. There was some concern this could affect the Pretty Prairie Rodeo, but officials with KDHE are working on that issue with city officials in Pretty Prairie.
The city of South Hutchinson has opted out of the spraying, according to Baldetti.
Officials plan to send more information via the Everbridge system to notify residents about a half hour before spraying in any particular area.
