HUTCHINSON, Kan. — If you made under $60,000 last year, you can get free help online at myfreetaxes.com.
If you made under $54,000, you can get free help — in person, right here in Hutchinson — by IRS certified volunteers through the local VITA program! VITA volunteers prepare basic tax returns for individuals and families and file them electronically every Tuesday from 8:30 to 6:30 or Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 2:30.
In addition, they are available for 2 Saturdays only: Feb. 17 and March 3 from 8:30 to 2:30!
Besides your tax documents and last year’s return, bring a photo ID and social security cards for all persons claimed. VITA is a service of the Volunteer Center of Reno County. Find them in The Salvation Army Building at 700 N. Walnut. It’s help for anyone of any age who made under $54,000 last year.
