Reno County Under Sheriff Sheldon Stewart announced Tuesday that the Reno County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a sobriety checklane this weekend.
The checklane will occur sometime between Friday, August 19th and Sunday, August 21st. As always, they don’t tell us where they will be set up, so be warned they may be in your area, and watching for impaired drivers, those who may be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.
Meanwhile, the Sedgwick County Sheriffs office says they will have additional deputies on the roads looking for impaired drivers and other traffic violations. They are doing this starting on August 18th, and continuing through the Labor Day weekend.
Their efforts are supported through a grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Over 100 law enforcement agencies across the state are participating in this effort, which they call, “Drunk Driving, over the limit, under arrest.”
