HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A new city flag design is coming to Hutchinson.
Members of the Hutchinson grassroots “Raising the Flag” committee are seeking community input to shape what people want to see in the creation of a city flag. The committee is asking the public to help with its design.
A special steering committee began meeting in March and was awarded a $2,500 Hutchinson Community Foundation Make It Greater grant in April.
Three public meetings were recently held on July 24, July 26 and July 27. The meetings were facilitated by Ron Fisher with Fisher Coaching. The input gathered from the three meetings will be assembled and used to direct the design phase.
The deadline for design submissions will be Sept. 30. A separate group will vet the designs after that date. The committee hopes to unveil the winning Hutchinson flag design during the November Christmas parade in downtown Hutchinson.
