There were no changes inside the NJCAA Top 11 in its national football poll this week. Thus, the Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons remained No. 9.
Hutchinson (5-1, 3-0 Jayhawk Conference) defeated Dodge City 63-6 on Saturday night at Gowans Stadium to remain unbeaten in the Jayhawk Conference. The Blue Dragons travel to 1-5 Garden City on Saturday night.
The Blue Dragons have now been ranked in 24 consecutive and 32 of the last 34 NJCAA football polls, the longest run as a ranked team since the mid-1990s, when it spent time in 29 consecutive polls. HCC had been ranked in the NJCAA Top 10 in 15 consecutive polls before falling out after the Air Force Prep loss.
Two other Jayhawk Conference schools are in this week’s national rankings.
Butler remained at No. 5 and Coffeyville moved up two spots to 12th.
Blinn College, Arizona Western and East Mississippi remain the top three teams in the national poll this week.
The only major movement in the polls came when previous Nos. 12 and 13 Northeast Mississippi and New Mexico Military both lost.
