Sedgwick County Accident Sends Two From Hutchinson To Wichita Hospital

Two Hutchinson residents were taken to a Wichita hospital Friday evening after their vehicle sideswiped another on K-96 near Mt. Hope.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 17-year-old Jackie Pearson of Mt. Hope made a left turn onto the highway going westbound on K-96. She then stopped in the inside lane trying to yield to a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Jason Worthington of Hutchinson. He was also westbound and then tried to make an evasive maneuver to avoid hitting Pearson’s vehicle, but his car sideswiped Pearson’s vehicle and he then lost control with his vehicle entering the median where it rolled once, ending up on its wheels.

Worthington and his passenger, 45-year-old Pamela Worthington of Hutchinson were both transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment of their injuries.

The accident occurring around 7:30 p-m, near Mt. Hope.
