It’s become an annual event at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility and its coming again. The U-S Bureau of Land Management and the prison will host a Wild Horse Open House on August 9th and 10th.
The public is invited to come and observe training demonstrations during the open house which will be done by inmates at the rehabilitation program at the facility.
The Open House on Friday is from 10 a-m to 6 p-m and on Saturday from 8 a-m to 3 p-m.
Due to a strong demand for Hutchinson-trained horses, there is a growing list to adopt, but those interested may sign up anytime. Through a unique partnership between the Bureau of Land Management, the prison and the Mustang Heritage Foundation that helps cover of the cost of the program, the facility can offer trained horses for just 125-dollars.
