Governor Appoints New Member To The Kansas State Fair Board

Governor Sam Brownback appointed another member to the Kansas State Fair Board.

Abby Amick, of Alma, Kansas is currently the Director of Wabunsee County Economic Development, a position she has held since 2007. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in agriculture, animal science and industry and her master’s degree in agri-business. Amick is being appointed by the governor to a three year term.

The state fair board consist of 13 members which helps decide policy and also money spent to showcase agriculture, commerce and industry each September. But, the fair is also an entertainment venue as well as providing education to Kansas students.

The fair is held here in Hutchinson each September.
