Accident Near Preston In Pratt County Injures Two

Two people were taken to area hospitals after a one vehicle crash in Pratt County over the weekend.

42-year-old Rafael Rico of Medicine Lodge was taken to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. He was a passenger in the vehicle driven by 49-year-old Daniel U. Enriquez of Meeker, Colorado. Enriquez was taken to Pratt Regional Medical Center for treatment.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Enriquez was eastbound on K-61 when his Dodge TK left the roadway to the right hand side, struck a KDOT sign, then entered a culvert where his vehicle then became airborne, traveled 51-feet before landing, then struck a tree.

The accident occurring just before 7 a-m Saturday just east of Hooker Street in Preston, in Northeast Pratt County.
