The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce announces the first in a series of seminars relating to the Affordable Care Act and the impact it has on the business community. The presentation, Affordable Care Act: Where Do We Go From Here?, will take place on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 4:30 – 6:00 p-m, at Hutchinson Community College Shears Technology Center. The presentation is co-sponsored by the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce and United Methodist Health Ministry Fund.
The April 29th seminar will feature Sheldon Weisgrau, Director of the Health Reform Resource Project, as facilitator of the presentation. Weisgrau will give a presentation regarding upcoming changes resulting from the Affordable Care Act and what the business community needs to know to prepare for what’s to come. Participants will have adequate time to ask questions at the end of the presentation.
“As a Chamber, we want to make sure our members are prepared for the changes the Affordable Care Act will bring. We feel it is important to make resources and tools available to our membership that help them adapt to changing policy and business climate,” said Jason Ball, President of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce.
Sheldon Weisgrau is the Director of the Health Reform Resource Project, a foundation-funded initiative to provide education and technical assistance to consumers and other stakeholders in the implementation of health reform and the Affordable Care Act in Kansas. Weisgrau has more than 25 years of experience in health policy and has worked effectively in the public, private, and non-profit sectors to ensure the delivery of health care services in rural and underserved communities and to enhance the knowledge and engagement of health care consumers, providers, and policymakers. Sheldon earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and a master’s degree in health policy and management from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health.
The presentation is free to attend and only open to members of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce. To register for the April 29th presentation, participants may visit www.hutchchamber.com or contact the Chamber at 620-662-3391.
