One Two Accused In Child Sex Case May Enter A Plea
One of the two people suspected of child sex crimes was in court Friday morning where she was scheduled to enter a plea, however that was continued to Monday morning at 8:30 a-m. This was to allow time for a debriefing by law enforcement.
Wendy Brown is charged with two crimes which could also bring life sentences. She’s charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child and sexual exploitation of a child, both off grid felonies. These two charges are in relation with a 13-year-old child. She’s also charged with indecent liberties with a child, and a less severe charge of sexual exploitation of a child. These two charges involve a 15-year-old child.
She is apparently prepared to enter a plea to count 1, which is aggravated indecent liberties with a child on off grid felony under Jessica’s Law which could have meant a life sentence, but the state is going to amend that count to a lower level felony of indecent liberties with a child. She will also enter a plea to another count of indecent liberties of a child.
Both sides will recommend a sentence of 59-months on count 1, and 32-months on count 3, for a total of 91-months in prison.
The case against co-defendant, Douglas Fiscus has been continued till after the first of the year.
He’s charged with sexual exploitation of a child, two counts of electronic solicitation of a child, one count of solicitation of a child and aggravated indecent liberties. This involves two victims, a 13-year-old and a 15-year old. The aggravated indecent liberties count is for the 15-year-old, however the sexual exploitation counts could see him get life sentences.
The alleged crimes against the two are alleged to have occurred between March 1, and April 30, of this year, in Haven, but also has a connection with Hutchinson. The arrest coming after a joint investigation by both the Haven and Hutchinson Police Departments have led to the arrest of the two on the charges.
We’ll let you know Monday what happens in the case against Brown.
