Two Hutch Men Arrested For Burglary And Theft

Two Hutchinson men were jailed Monday night after they allegedly entered residence in the 1300 block of North Washington and stole purses belonging to the two female residents.

That was called into police around 11:17 p-m, and 20-year-old Andrew Hufford was arrested on charges of burglary and theft, however, he was also arrested on warrants which included two counts of failing to appear, a probation violation and violation of his post release supervision. His bond set at 50-thousand, 500-dollars.

Hufford served time for robbery and burglary in a case that goes back to January of 2011. He has been on community corrections for convictions for drugs, driving while suspended, and no insurance for a case that goes back to February. He is listed as an absconder on the Kansas Department of Corrections website.

Also arrested was 21-year-old Dylan Burgess. He’s also charged with burglary, theft and interference with law enforcement. But, he also had a warrant for failing to appear on a municipal court case. His bond set at 6-thousand dollars.

Both men were arrested at 5th & Cleveland and taken into custody.

Both will be back in court next Wednesday, if not sooner. It depends on when the state files formal charges against them.
