Sophomore midfielder Nicole Cronin was named the Jayhawk Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week on Tuesday.

In the top-ranked Lady Dragons’ only game last week, Cronin had a five-point game in leading HCC to an 8-0 victory at Garden City.

Cronin, a sophomore from Limerick, Ireland, had a goal and three assists in the victory over the Broncbusters. She posted her second-straight game with three or more assists and it was her third game of three or more assists this season. Cronin also scored her second goal of the season against Garden City.

The five points scored tied a career high for Cronin.

This is the fifth time this season that a Hutchinson player was named Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week.

Verizon and the Jayhawk Conference are in the third year of a partnership to honor the Jayhawk Conference’s weekly Players of the Week.

Cronin is now eligible for NJCAA national player of the week. That award will be announced on Wednesday.
