Sedgwick County Officials Arrest Suspect In Sunday Morning Murder

WICHITA – The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating what they say is a homicide after the victim was found at 2100 West 55th Street South in Wichita.

On Sunday morning at around 10:17 a-m, deputies responded to that location after a motorist called 911, saying they found the body of a white female in the ditch.

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Amber L. Kostner. Her body was taken to the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center in Wichita where an autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.

Sheriff Officials did arrest a suspect in the case Sunday evening. 41-year-old Anson Bernhardt from Wichita was booked into the Sedgwick County Detention Center on a charge of first degree murder

The case will now be sent to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges.
