Accident Sends Elderly Reno County Man To Wichita Hospital

A western Reno County man was flown to a Wichita hospital during the noon hour Friday after a crash in the 8600 block of West 4th.

Emergency officials found 75-year-old Marvin Dale Farney pinned in his wrecked vehicle.

Farney was eastbound on 4th when his vehicle went off the south side of the roadway, striking two mailboxes and a concrete culvert.

Jaws of Life was used to extract Farney from his vehicle before being flown to Wesley Hospital by Eagle Med Helicopter.

He appeared to have a broken hip and possible abdominal injuries. He was wearing his seat-belt and airbags deployed.

Cause of the accident is still under investigation.
